Hello, lover...
I wish I could say that this little tub of deliciousness needs no introduction, but that would not be at all true. Meet Burnt Sugar Pomade, made by some amazing people at a tiny little company in Baltimore called Oyin Handmade.
Remember the last time you had creme brulee', and you crunched through that delicious top layer of scorched sugar? That is what this smells like, except that the smell is heady, rich, intoxicating. It is 100% natural, amazing, fabulous! I already loved Oyin Handmade before I got this, but this product signs me on as a fan for life. Yum. YUM. If you can keep yourself from eating it, it is a fabulous pomade for dry, curly hair. Or as a deep conditioning treatment. I've also been using it to soften my knees and elbows and cuticles and whatever else I can think of, because it smells so delicious and is so deeply moisturizing!
Here is my complete Oyin stash at the moment. (After bath oil is not pictured, I forgot him in the cabinet! *sigh*)

I had a beautiful little tub of whipped shea butter, I just don't know what happened...
I discovered Oyin while searching for natural deodorants. I know the aluminums in traditional deodorants are bad for you, but it was the only thing that worked for me for the longest time. I made a half-hearted attempt with some drugstore brands: Toms of Maine, Kiss My Face, and none of them worked for me. (In plain language, I stank to high heaven! Whewwwwwwwww!) So I was skeptical when I heard people discussing Aromacreme by Lush and Funk Butter by Oyin, but then decided to try and see.
Now, I'm hooked. I confess, I am an addict, and there is no going back from this.
I adore both Oyin and Lush; Oyin wins in the "buy local" category, even though I'm now in WV. Baltimore, MD is still closer than Canada, which is where the closest Lush ships from. But Lush wins for selection! Of course Lush is a huge company, not like little Oyin. (I wish Oyin much success and hope they grow and grow, hence my reviews and links and hoping to hook some more people on their amazing products!)
So anyways, this blog will now be including both gratuitous Lush and Oyin porn, plus reviews. I hope you enjoy them and indulge yourself in some good-for-the-earth and your body products!
