My Lush Reviews...

I am new to Lush, but I adore it so far! I love that the company is so ethical and working so hard on being green. They try to keep packaging to a minimum, try to use as few preservatives as possible (their fresh face masks are available in stores only!), focus on natural ingredients and source their ingredients with ethical sources. No animal testing, no sweatshops, all fair labor and everything. I love that and I'm having a blast experimenting with their products! I cannot believe I didn't know about Lush for such a long time, as I am such a bath-a-holic!

Lots more Lush P&o*r%n after the jump!

OK, so reviews!

Big Blue...
I adore Big Blue. Big Blue is a ballistic with a fragrant lemon/lavender zestyness to it, chock full of seaweed (no, literally, seaweed!), sea salt, and some other stuff that makes my skin feel fabulous. This is the bath where I just seem to find reason after reason NOT to get out of the tub. I can stay in for ages, turning the water temperature up, turning it down, letting it cool, just relaxing. I love it! I recently combined a half of a Big Blue bomb with a crumble of Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar Slice, and it was heavenly!

Here are a few photos of Big Blue combined with a cube (about 2" square) of Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds.

Finally, my daughter enjoying that tub full of deliciousness!

FWIW I do not personally recommend breaking up Big Blue. The oomph is taken away when you do that, IMO. These photos show about 3/4 of a Big Blue plus the crumble of BS&FWC, and I added the bubbles because I was so disappointed in the *oomph* of my bath otherwise. With a whole Big Blue, you don't need anything extra. *sigh* :)

Curly Wurly...
I have been battling dry, itchy, flaky scalp for the past two years or so. I swear ever since I got pregnant, my scalp has not been right! I have tried every dandruff shampoo available. Then I got myself some Curly Wurly. It is fairly pricey! But little did I know that slathering on some Curly Wurly and working it into my scalp would *cure* whatever was ailing my scalp. When I ran out for a few days, the itchy scalp came back! I wonder what it is. Anyways, I love Curly Wurly! The coconut bits *can* be a little difficult to wash out. I hope Lush refines this recipe and makes the coconut more finely ground to make it easier for us curly gurlies!

Whoosh Jelly...

I must confess that I am not that impressed with Whoosh. It smells delicious, like limey-zingy something, but the texture is just impossible to use. Even mixed with water and spread out well on a loofah, the bubbles don't go very far. I am going to try an experiment with the rest of it and make mousse out of it; I will report back with photos to let you know how it goes!

Soft Coeur...
One of the things I love about a lot of the Lush products is that you can use them for multiple things, and Soft Coeur is an excellent example of this. Not only is it positively, absolutely, to-die-for delicious just to smell it... but it also feels intensely fabulous when you rub it onto your skin. Not too greasy, juuuust right. Rubbing it in not only feels fabulous but releases that heavenly scent... mmmm! This works fantastically for massage (in fact, I just a few minutes ago used this on my husband's lower back. Yes, even men love to smell like chocolate and honey!), but you can use it for all kinds of things. I like to swipe a bit on my finger and then use that as lip balm. I use it as a lotion anywhere I need it. You could slice off a piece to use as a bath melt (or splurge with the whole darned thing!). I've also just melted a bit with some brown sugar to use as a scrub; I'll report back on how that works out. You could probably use it to shave, too, or for before and after shave moisturizing. This little guy does everything but wash the dishes! I love it. The chocolate bits have not been a concern for me (they do leave a chocolatey mark, but for me it just rubs right in and disappears), but if they are for you, make a scrub, or lotion! I'll post some recipes soon but for now, here's a link with some ideas.

Sonic Death Monkey...

This shower gel is soooo close to being perfect. So close! Just not... *quite*... there. It is a gooey mess of chocolate-orange-coffee yum with a hefty undertone of something like tobacco. Of the shower gels I've tried, this one has the consistency most like a "normal" shower gel to me. Not too thick, not too thin. My husband hated this on first smell. I loved it on first smell and now have settled down to a reasonable "like" of this one. I wish there weren't such a heavy tobacco/orange thing going on with the chocolate. How about just making it chocolate and coffee and leaving the other stuff out? Now that would be something delicious to wake up to!

The Olive Branch...
At first I was not terribly impressed with The Olive Branch. I thought it was pretty inoffensive, but nothing special. But it has really, really grown on me. Now I love the smell, a little bit of spicy citrus deliciousness! This is another product that is multi-purpose. You can use it as a shower gel and it is fabulous! You can use it as shampoo and smell lovely all day. I've been using it as a facial wash and my face *glows*. I use Angels on Bare Skin and take a finger full of that, and a tiny squirt of The Olive Branch, and combine them together. It makes AOBS smoother, creamier, and easier to apply. Yum!!!! LOVE The Olive Branch.
